One segment of the film focused on UV water treatment in an Indian state and the amazing impact it had on the communities there.

So now it looks like New York City is jumping on the bandwagon! Scientific American just came out with an article indicating that the Big Apple is constructing a water disinfection facility in Westchester County that will harvest the sun's energy to kill water-borne pathogens and disinfect the water.

The article can be found at: http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=clean-water-technology

Despite this awesome advance away from chlorination, I feel that more research can be done to improve efficiency of this method (such as concentrating the sunlight, as someone mentioned in the article comments) as well as other methods that leave less of an environmental impact.
